Storm Restoration · Pharr, TX

When a Storm Comes Through the Valley

Storms here have a pattern. Spring brings hail, summer brings wind and rain off the Gulf, and both leave the same trail behind — shingles in the yard, dented gutters, and a wet spot on the ceiling that was not there last week.

Hidalgo Roofing works storm damage across Pharr, McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, and San Juan. We handle the emergency part first and the paperwork second. If your roof is just worn out rather than storm-hit, the roofing page is the better place to start.

First Response

Emergency Tarping, Same Day

A hole in the roof gets worse every hour it rains. Water runs down the decking, soaks the insulation, and comes through the drywall a room away from where it started. The first job is stopping that.

Call and tell us water is coming in. We come out, get a tarp over the opening, and fasten it down so it holds through the next round of weather. That buys us the time to look at the whole roof properly and do the real repair in daylight.

Damage Documentation

Hail and Wind Damage, Written Down Properly

Hail damage does not always look like damage from the driveway. It shows up as bruises in the shingle where the granules got knocked loose, dents in the soft metal on vents and gutters, and spatter marks on the flashing. Wind leaves a different signature — shingles creased at the fold, or lifted where the seal let go.

We get on the roof, photograph every one of those, and mark where they are. Then we measure the roof so the numbers on the claim match the house.

That record matters. A claim built on clear photos and real measurements is a claim your carrier can actually act on.

Insurance Claims

Help With Your Insurance Claim

Most people file a roof claim once or twice in their life, so nobody expects you to know the steps. We will help you file it, hand over the photos and measurements, and put together whatever else your carrier asks for.

If your adjuster wants to walk the roof, we will be there for it, so the person writing the estimate and the person who has been on your roof are looking at the same damage.

What your policy covers is between you and your insurance company — we do not make promises about that. What we can do is make sure the damage is documented properly and that you are not sorting through the paperwork alone.

What Every Storm Job Includes

Same process after every storm, whether you are in Pharr, McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, or San Juan.

Someone Answers, Any Hour

Storms do not keep business hours. We pick up at 2 a.m. the same as 2 p.m., and we will tell you honestly how fast we can be there.

Same-Day Tarping

If water is coming in, a tarp goes on first. Stopping the water is worth more than any conversation about the full repair.

Full Photo Record

Every bruise, crease, and dent gets photographed and located on the roof, along with measurements of the whole thing.

Help Filing the Claim

We will walk you through filing and hand over the documentation your carrier asks for. No promises about coverage — that part is theirs.

We Meet Your Adjuster

When the adjuster comes out, we will be on the roof with them so the estimate reflects what is actually up there.

More Than the Roof

Storms take gutters, fascia, and siding with them. We repair those too, so you are not chasing three different contractors.

Good to Know

Storm Damage Questions

My roof is leaking right now — how fast can you get here?
Usually same day. Someone answers the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Say on the call that water is coming in and we will treat it as an emergency — the goal is a tarp over the opening before the next round of rain.
What does hail damage actually look like?
On shingles it looks like dark bruises where the granules got knocked off, often the size of a coin. On metal — vents, gutters, flashing — it shows as small dents. You can sometimes spot the dents from the ground, but the shingle bruising is hard to judge without getting up there, which is why we get up there and look.
Do you help with the insurance claim?
We do. We document the damage with photos and measurements, help you file, and put together what your carrier asks for. What your policy covers is between you and your insurance company — we do not promise coverage outcomes. We just make sure the damage is on record properly.
Will you meet my insurance adjuster at the house?
Yes, if you want us there. It helps when the person writing the estimate and the roofer who has been on your roof are looking at the same damage at the same time. Tell us when the adjuster is scheduled and we will work around it.
How much does storm damage repair cost?
It depends on what the storm did and how much of the roof it touched, so we do not put a number on this page. You will get a written quote before anyone starts work.
Do you fix siding and gutters, or only the roof?
Both. Hail and wind usually take the gutters and fascia along with the shingles, and siding on the windward wall often gets hit too. We handle those as part of the same job. Bigger exterior work rolls into home remodeling.
Should I wait until the claim is approved to call a roofer?
No — call early. Damage is easiest to document before more weather moves through and before anything gets patched over. Getting a tarp on quickly also keeps a small problem from turning into a ceiling replacement.
