Residential Roofing Across the Valley
Hidalgo Roofing & Remodeling works on houses. Our office sits on North Sugar Road in Pharr, and our crews run all over Hidalgo County — McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, San Juan, and the smaller towns in between. Roofing is our main line of work, and it has been for a long time.
This page is the overview. If you already know what you're after, go straight to roof repair or roof replacement. If you're not sure yet — and most people aren't — keep reading, then call us. Getting us up on the roof is the fastest way to find out where you stand.
What We Do
Every Part of a Roof, One Crew
Most roofing calls we get in Pharr start the same way: a stain on the ceiling, shingles in the yard after a windy night, or a neighbor who just had their roof done and mentioned yours looks rough. Any of those is a fine reason to call.
We handle the whole range on a residential roof, from a single flashing repair to a full tear-off and rebuild. Same crew start to finish — nobody hands your house off to a subcontractor you've never met.
Valley Weather
What the Valley Does to a Roof
Roofs age faster down here. The sun runs hot most of the year and bakes the oils out of asphalt shingles until they go brittle and start losing their granules. You can see it in the gutters — that black grit is your roof wearing out.
Then spring brings hail, and wind coming off the Gulf gets under any shingle whose seal has already let go. A roof that would have lasted twenty years somewhere cooler often doesn't make it that far in Hidalgo County.
None of that means your roof is finished. It does mean a roof here earns a look every year or two once it hits fifteen — before a small opening turns into a soaked ceiling.
Which One Do I Need?
Fix It, or Replace It?
This is the question almost everyone calls with, and the honest answer is that nobody can give it to you from the driveway. It depends on how old the roof is, how much of it is worn, and what the decking underneath looks like.
Plenty of roofs we look at need a roof repair and nothing more — a few shingles, some flashing around a vent, a reseal where the last guy cut a corner. Others are worn through top to bottom, and patching them just moves the leak somewhere else. That's when a roof replacement is the cheaper answer over any real span of time.
We'll show you the photos from your own roof and tell you which one you're looking at. If it can be repaired, we'll say so — we're not in the business of selling roofs people don't need.

Materials
Shingles, Metal, and Impact-Resistant
Most homes in Pharr and McAllen wear architectural asphalt shingles, and for good reason — they look right on a Valley house, they come in every color, and they're the most common roof we install.
Metal roofing costs more up front and lasts a good deal longer. It sheds heat instead of soaking it up, which is worth something in August. Impact-resistant shingles are the third option — built with a tougher mat so hail is less likely to bruise them.
We'll lay out the choices during the inspection, with the trade-offs in plain language, and tell you what makes sense for your house and your street. No pressure to take the expensive one.
The Appointment
What Happens When You Call
You call, someone picks up — day or night — and we set a time. We get on the roof, walk it, and photograph what we find: the flashing, the valleys, the vents, the state of the shingles. Then we come down and show you the pictures.
You get a written quote before anything starts, and you get a straight answer about what needs doing now versus what can wait. If it's storm damage, we'll document it properly and help you file the claim with your insurance company.
There is no obligation at the end of it. Worst case, you find out your roof is fine and you can stop worrying about it.

What Every Roofing Job Includes
Same process on every roof, whether you're in Pharr, McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, or San Juan.
We Get On the Roof First
Nobody quotes a roof they haven't been on. We get up there, take photos, and show you what we found before we talk about work.
A Written Quote Up Front
You see the number in writing before anyone starts. If we hit something unexpected under the shingles, we stop and talk to you first.
A Straight Recommendation
If your roof needs a repair and not a replacement, that's what we'll tell you. We'd rather have the next job than oversell this one.
Insurance Claim Help
Storm damage gets documented with photos and measurements, and we'll help you file the claim and pull together what your carrier asks for.
A Clean Job Site
We protect the landscaping, haul off the old material, and run a magnet over the yard and driveway before we leave. Nails end up in the truck, not your tires.
Someone Who Answers
We pick up 24/7, during the job and after it. Our office is in Pharr and we've been BBB accredited with an A+ rating since 2016.
